BRUNSWICK, Maine - The honors continue to roll in for Bowdoin men's basketball senior Lucas Hausman (Westport, Conn.), who was named as one of ten finalists for the prestigious Jostens Trophy on Tuesday.
The Jostens Trophy is awarded to an outstanding NCAA Division III men's and women's basketball player who excels on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. This season marks the 19th presentation of the awards, with the inaugural trophies bestowed in 1998.
Outside of his stellar basketball achievements, which include being named 2015 NESCAC Player of the Year and leading the conference in scoring with a school-record 25.3 points per game this year, Hausman is a CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American with a major in Economics. Off the court, Hausman has contributed in the community as part of team volunteer efforts at the Mid-Coast Hunger Prevention Program, Team IMPACT and Special Olympics.
The finalists continue through the review process, with a national selection committee of 32 individuals charged with determining the two winners (one man, one woman) of the 2016 Jostens Trophy honors.
