BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin junior Lucas Hausman (Westport, Conn.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

It is the second-straight week that Hausman has earned the league's weekly award.

Hausman enjoyed a record-setting weekend to propel Bowdoin to the No. 2 seed in the NESCAC Tournament - the team's highest-ever seed for the conference tourney. The junior guard tied the school record with 44 points on 20-for-25 shooting from the field on Friday as the Polar Bears defeated Bates, 98-70. His 20 made field goals were also a program record.

On Saturday against Tufts, Hausman again led all scorers with a game-high 16 points to go with seven rebounds in a 57-54 defensive struggle. Hausman is now tied for the league lead at 20.1 points per game this season.

The Polar Bears (17-6) will host Williams (14-9) in a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday afternoon at Morrell Gymnasium. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m. Bowdoin will close out its regular season on Monday evening at home against Husson at 7:00 p.m.
