Grant and Netto Garner All-NESCAC Honors For Bowdoin Football

BRUNSWICK, Maine - A pair of Bowdoin College football players have earned All-New England Small College Athletic Conference honors in league awards handed out on Tuesday.

Sophomore running back Tyler Grant (Stratham, N.H.) and junior center Matthew Netto (Watertown, N.Y.) were both chosen as Second Team All-Conference selections.

Despite leading the conference in rushing by 239 yards over his closest competitor and ranking second in the league with 8 touchdowns, Grant was chosen as a Second Team selection by the league coaches. His 893 yards this season were the third-most in Bowdoin history and his eight scores were tied for the sixth-most by a Polar Bear in a single season.

Netto, Bowdoin's starting center in all eight games this season, played a huge role in the success of the Polar Bear rushing attack this fall, which averaged 131.6 yards per game. He also anchored a line that permitted just nine sacks in eight games this year.
