Kell Named Rookie of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College first-year quarterback Oliver Kell (Westford, Mass.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for his efforts last Saturday against Bates. The Polar Bears (1-6) travel to play at Colby (2-5) on November 11 for the C-B-B Championship.

Kell was outstanding in his second career start, tossing for 222 yards and three touchdowns in Bowdoin's 23-14 win. He went 18-for-25 in passing attempts, with all three scoring strikes going to wide receiver Nick Tomaino.

In four games this season, Kell has tossed for 428 yards on 39-of-75 attempts. His 113.14 passer efficiency rating would stand fifth in the NESCAC if he had the necessary number of attempts to qualify.

Bowdoin is looking for their first C-B-B Title since 1998. Gametime is set for 12:30 on Saturday.
