Men's Tennis Dominates Wallach Invitational in Fall Finale

LEWISTON, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team dominated at the Wallach Invitational hosted by Bates this weekend.

The Polar Bears concluded an impressive fall season by winning all four singles brackets at the tournament, which included a strong field from around the region.

How It Happened

  • The A-Division and B-Division singles brackets each featured all-Bowdoin finals with Luke Trinka defeating Luke Tercek for the A singles title and Kyle Wolfe beating Jerry Jiang in for the B singles crown
  • Trinka earned four hard-fought victories to take the A-Divison, including a trio of three-set wins, including in the final against Tercek (6-3, 1-6, (10-8))
  • Wolfe lost just one set in four B-Division matches and defeated Jiang 6-0, 6-4 in the finals
  • Gil Roddy won the C-Division thanks to a comeback win in the finals against Kyle Schlanger of Middlebury (3-6, 6-3 (10-5))
  • Grant Urken dominated the D-Division, cruising to four straight-set wins in which he surrendered no more than two games in any set en route to the crown
