Cross Country Teams Compete at Open New England Championship
BOSTON, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Open New England meet Saturday at Franklin Park.
In a field that included several Division I teams, the Bowdoin men posted a 26th-place finish in a 41-team field. The women's squad earned a 35th-place showing in a field of 43.
Gregory Talpey was the top finisher for the Bowdoin men, finishing in 109th place with a time of 26:10. Avery Wentworth earned a 142nd place showing (26:31) while Tyler Cox was next-best in 147th spot (26:35).
Madelena Rizzo ran 168th in the women's race to pace Bowdoin with a time of 19:45. Caroline Sun (186th, 20:01) and Allyson Fulton (200th, 20:16) were the next-best performances for Bowdoin.
The Polar Bears will compete next Saturday at the Maine State Championship meet hosted by Colby.
