Flaharty Named NESCAC Volleyball Player of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin sophomore Caroline Flaharty (Fort Myers, Fla.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.

Flaharty was dominant in a pair of key NESCAC road wins for the Polar Bears.  At Trinity, she recorded 12 kills and had seven digs in a 3-0 sweep. In a five-set comeback win at Amherst, she notched a career-high 26 kills against just two errors, hitting .393 and earning 12 digs as the Polar Bears claimed a 3-2 victory. For the week, she averaged 4.75 kills and 2.38 digs per set while hitting at a .365 clip. She currently stands second in the NESCAC in total kills (191) and fifth in kills/set (3.35).

Flaharty and the Polar Bears will travel to Bates on Tuesday evening for their annual non-conference meeting with the Bobcats before returning home on Saturday for Senior Day against Middlebury at 1:00 p.m.
