2016 Recap (15-10): On the heels of the program's best-ever season, the Polar Bears worked through some early season growing pains to hit their stride in October, going 7-1 in-region down the stretch. Bowdoin knocked off Williams in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Tournament and took the first set against top-seeded Tufts in the NESCAC semifinals before bowing out, 3-1.
2017 Preview: Bowdoin returns a boatload of talent that features four of the team's top five attackers from a year ago, including NESCAC Rookie of the Year Caroline Flaherty, who ranked second in the conference in kills (3.63/set) last fall. The Polar Bears will look to fill the holes left by a talented senior class that included three All-Region players and two All-Americans.
Bowdoin opens its campaign at home against Southern Maine (Sep. 6) before playing in the first of their three fall tournaments next weekend at the New England Invitational (Sep. 8-9). The squad will travel out-of-region for the second consecutive year at the challenging Transylvania Invitational in Kentucky (Sep. 22-23) and will also compete in the Hall of Fame Tournament at Amherst (Oct. 20-21). Key NESCAC home matches will include Colby and Bates in consecutive days (Sep. 15-16), Tufts (Sep. 19), Williams and Hamilton (Sep. 29-30) and Homecoming Saturday against Middlebury (Oct. 14).
