Women's Volleyball Earns Seventh Consecutive AVCA Academic Award
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team has been honored for its work in the classroom last academic year.
The Polar Bears received the "AVCA Team Academic Award" from the American Volleyball Coaches Association for the seventh consecutive year. In order to receive the honor, eligible teams must meet a 3.30 cumulative grade point average. Bowdoin was one of 126 teams recognized in Division III and were just one of six teams honored from the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
On the court, the Polar Bears continued their ascent to a national power, finishing as the 2013 NESCAC runners-up and just missing out on their third consecutive bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Bowdoin will open their 2014 campaign on Friday, September 5 against Plymouth State University at the Endicott Invitational. Click here for the complete 2014 schedule.
