Women's Volleyball Team Dominates Wesleyan For 40th Straight Home Victory

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team dispatched Wesleyan 3-0 on Friday night for its 40th consecutive home victory.

The Polar Bears, owners of the longest home-court winning streak in Division III volleyball, improve to 11-1 (3-0 NESCAC) this fall with the 25-15, 25-18, 25-15 decision. Wesleyan drops to 4-7 (0-4 NESCAC) this year.

Bowdoin used a balanced attack and served up 15 aces in the victory. Ellie Brennan notched a team-high nine kills to go with four blocks. Melissa Haskell had seven kills, including four aces, while Sophia Cornew dished out 30 assists, had four aces and collected eight digs. Taylor Vail had a team-high 18 digs in the win.

Wesleyan's Kim Farris led all players with 10 kills. Kate Centofanti had six kills and three aces while Claire Larson handed out 23 assists in the loss.

Both teams return to action tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. when Bowdoin hosts Connecticut College and Wesleyan plays at Tufts.
