Hanczor Named NESCAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College junior Kristin Hanczor has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week. A middle blocker, Hanczor led the Polar Bears to their best-ever finish at the Hall of Fame Tournament last weekend and was named to the All-Tournament squad.

It is the second weekly honor in Hanczor's career and the first for Bowdoin since she claimed the award as a rookie in 2008.

Hanczor led the Polar Bears to a second-place finish at the Hall of Fame Tournament, one of New England's premier events. She paced sixth-seeded Bowdoin to a pair of wins over the top two ranked teams in the region, scoring 13 digs in wins over New England's #1 Amherst and #2 Springfield. In all, Hanczor connected on .339 percent of her attacks, averaging 2.33 kills and 1.08 blocks per set.

The Polar Bears sit at 16-9 overall this season and finished with a 7-3 record in league play which will represent their best finish in the history of the league. Bowdoin closes out their regular season with a trio of games this week, including a Senior Day doubleheader against Keene and Emerson on Saturday. The NESCAC Tournament will begin Friday, November 5.
