Tess Trinka Advances to Second Round of NCAA Singles Championship

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Bowdoin's Tess Trinka advanced to the second round of the NCAA Singles championship on Thursday in her first-ever appearance in the national individual tournament.

The junior earned a first-round victory against Mary Cardone (Southwestern), 7-6, 6-0, before falling in a second-round match to Brooke Donnelly (Washington & Lee) by a score of 6-0, 6-7, 6-2. Her first-round win automatically awards her All-American recognition.
 
Senior Joulia Likhanskaia also qualified for the championship and fell in a first-round match to Michelle Satterfield of Emory, 6-1, 7-5. She also teamed with Samantha Stalder in the doubles championship, but lost to a team from CMS, 6-2, 6-2 in the opening round.
