Women's Tennis Earns Hosting Rights For NCAA Regional (Updated)

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team will host a regional for the opening rounds of the NCAA Division III Championship this weekend at Pickard Courts.

Due to hosting a regional for both men's and women's tennis, the men's matches will be played on Thursday-Saturday while the women will play Friday-Sunday.

The Polar Bears advanced to the NESCAC semifinals last weekend and received a first-round bye to Saturday where they will play the winner of Friday's first-round match between Colby-Sawyer and Bridgewater State. Friday's other first round match will feature MIT and Gwynedd Mercy, who will play to advance to face Wesleyan on Saturday. Saturday's winners will play on Sunday in the regional final.

The Polar Bears have been ranked near the top of the ITA Division III poll for most of the spring campaign and reached the NESCAC Semifinals last weekend.
