ENGLEWOOD, Fla. - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team recorded a dominant 8-1 win over Washington University on Thursday afternoon to remain unbeaten this spring.

The Polar Bears, who rose to #3 in the latest ITA Division III rankings, cruised to the win over the Bears, who stand at #9 in the latest poll.

  • Bowdoin won a trio of 8-5 wins in doubles play to take a commanding 3-0 edge heading into singles play.
  • Joulia Likhanskaia/Sam Stalder, Tess Trinka/Pilar Giffenig and Sasa Jovanovic/Tasha Christ claimed the wins at positions 1-3 for the Polar Bears.
  • The Polar Bears continued to roll in singles play, clinching the win with four straight-set wins in singles action, including dominant performances from Trinka (6-0, 6-1), Christ (6-4, 6-3), Jovanovic (6-1, 6-3) and Giffenig (6-1, 6-4). Stalder claimed a three-set win (4-6, 6-3, 10-8) to round out the Bowdoin winners.
