CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Bowdoin women's tennis team continued its strong spring break play with an 8-1 NESCAC victory over Trinity on Wednesday afternoon.
The fourth-ranked Polar Bears improve to 5-0 and pick up their first conference victory of the year. The Bantams fall to 1-2.
- Bowdoin swept doubles play, with Pilar Giffenig and Tess Trinka earning a perfect 8-0 win at #2. Joulia Likhanskaia teamed up with Samantha Stalder at #1 and Tasha Christ played with Sasa Jovanovic at #3, both picking up 8-1 wins.
- Trinka and Giffenig both won their matches at #2 and #5 respectively with 6-0, 6-0 showings.
- Jovanovic surrendered a single game (6-1, 6-0) at #4, while Christ earned a point at #3 (6-1, 6-2) and Maddie Rolph at #6 (6-2, 6-0).
- The Polar Bears face nationally ranked Washington University (St. Louis) tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. EST. The Bears from WashU are currently ranked 11th and are coming off an upset victory over 7th ranked Amherst.
