ORANGE, Calif. – The Bowdoin women's tennis team continued its strong opening season play with a dominating 9-0 win at Chapman University on Monday night.
The fourth-ranked Polar Bears climb to 3-0 on the year as Chapman falls to 0-6.
- Bowdoin swept doubles play with a pair of 8-0 results from Joulia Likhanskaia and Samantha Stalder at #1 and Tess Trinka and Pilar Giffenig at #2. The Polar Bears won the final doubles match by default.
- In an altered lineup, Trinka earned a 6-4, 6-0 win at the top singles spot. Stalder did not surrender a game at #2 (6-0, 6-0).
- Sarah Shadowens, Giffenig, and Sasa Jovanovic all earned 6-1, 6-0 wins at three through five singles. Maddie Rolph received a point at the six spot following an Chapman forfeit.
- Bowdoin heads to sixth-ranked Pomona-Pitzer for the team's first matchup with a nationally ranked opponent. The Polar Bears and Sagehens play at 2:00 p.m. EST.
