Women's Tennis Team Recognized as All-Academic by ITA

Emma Chow was one of three individuals honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team has been honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for its work in the classroom during the 2012-13 season.

The Polar Bears garnered the ITA's All-Academic Team award, surpassing the 3.20 cumulative team grade point average for the past academic year. It is the eighth consecutive year that Bowdoin has been named an All-Academic Team by the ITA.

Three individuals were also honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes for the 2012-13 campaign. Kellen Alberstone '13 (Tarzana, Calif.), Susanna Howard '14 (Iowa City, Iowa) and Emma Chow '15 (Toronto, Ont.) received recognition from the Association. In order to receive ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a varsity letter-winner, reach a 3.5 GPA for the academic year and have been enrolled for at least two semesters.

In addition to their work off the court, the Polar Bears posted a 15-5 record last year and advanced to the Third Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
