KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Bowdoin women's tennis senior Kellen Alberstone saw her season come to an end in the opening-round loss at the NCAA Division III Singles Championship Thursday morning.
Alberstone dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Katie Cecil of Carnegie Mellon. Cecil then won her afternoon match in straight-sets as well to advance to the quarterfinals.
A senior co-captain for the Polar Bears, Alberstone entered the tournament ranked fourth in the Northeast Regional ITA Rankings. She finished an exceptional senior campaign by being named the Division III Senior Player of the Year by the ITA and a First Team All-NESCAC selection. Alberstone racked up 18 wins in tournament and dual-match play this season and finishes her career with 58 total wins.
