Women's Tennis Remains Perfect With Shutout Win Over Rochester

Emma Chow won at #1 doubles with Chantalle Lavertu and cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at #4 singles

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team lost just eight points in singles play en route to a 9-0 win over Rochester on Wednesday afternoon.

The 10th-ranked Polar Bears improved to 3-0 this spring with the victory and will face another UAA opponent, Wash U, on Thursday afternoon.

Against Rochester, Bowdoin sprinted to a 3-0 lead in doubles play and never looked back. Emma Chow/Chantalle Lavertu (8-3), Emma Lewis/Kellen Alberstone (8-2) and Courtney Gallagher/Tiffany Cheng (8-2) were the winning pairings for the Polar Bears.

The Polar Bears extended their dominance into singles play, with #3 Cheng (6-0, 6-0), #4 Chow (6-0, 6-0) and #5 Gallagher (6-0, 6-0) posting clean sweeps. #1 Alberstone (6-4, 6-0), #2 Lavertu (6-1, 6-2) and #6 Susanna Howard (6-1, 6-0) also claimed points for Bowdoin.
