Alberstone, Winingham Earn All-NESCAC Honors For Women's Tennis

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin women's tennis players Kellen Alberstone (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Kate Winingham (Indianapolis, Ind.) have been named All-New England Small College Athletic Conference in selections announced on Friday.

Junior Kellen Alberstone received First Team Singles honors for the second year in a row, as she once again played at the number-one spot for the Polar Bears and holds a 13-9 mark entering the weekend. Albertsone is an alternate to participate in the NCAA individual tournament

Winingham, a sophomore who played most of her time at the #2 position for the Polar Bears, recorded nine victories this spring against just six losses. She also teamed with Alberstone at #1 doubles for a significant part of the year, earning six wins as a pair.

The duo helped lead the Polar Bears to an 11-8 record this spring and a semifinal finish in the NESCAC Tournament. Bowdoin will play Wellesley in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday at Middlebury College at 2:00 p.m.
