Katherine Foley Named NESCAC Women's Swimmer of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin senior Katherine Foley (Basking Ridge, N.J.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week.

Foley led the way for the Polar Bears in their 149-139 triumph over in-state rival Bates on Friday. The senior touched the wall first in both the 1000-yard freestyle (10:38) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:08). She also anchored the winning 400-yard freestyle relay with a split time of 53.7.

Her decisive 1000-yard win was a personal best and she currently ranks in the top-five in the conference in both the 500 and 1000-yard events. She already owns the school record in the 500-yard free (5:05.8), established last season.

Bowdoin will return to action on Saturday with their first intercollegiate home meet of the season that will include Wesleyan and Trinity. The action is set for 11:00 a.m. at Greason Pool.
