BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's squash team finished 24th in the nation following their final weekend of play at the College Squash Association's Walker Cup Division of Nationals.
The Polar Bears suffered a winless weekend, going 0-3, to finish the year at 7-13. Playing with a shorthanded roster that forced a default at #9 all weekend, Bowdoin lost their opening round match to William Smith, 5-4, before being tipped by St. Lawrence, 7-2, and Dickinson, 5-4, in the consolation bracket.
- Bowdoin swept positions 2-5 in the loss to William Smith, including a trio of 3-0 shutouts by Alexa Horwitz, Tully Ross and Chloe Polikoff. Lindsey Bindra won a hard-fought 3-2 (11-4,7-11,11-4,13-15,11-4) win at #2 to round out the Polar Bear victors.
- Against St. Lawrence Bowdoin was able to claim a pair of wins courtesy of Ross and Polikoff at positions 4 and 5, both by 3-0 scores.
- In the final match of the year against Dickinson, Bowdoin competed well again but couldn't pull out the win. Sarah Nelson earned a 3-0 win at #1 while Horwitz, Ross and Polikoff also netted wins at positions 3-5.
