Bowdoin Wins Opening Match at NESCAC Women's Squash Tourney

HARTFORD, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's squash team won its first-round match at the 2012 NESCAC Tournament on Friday, sweeping Connecticut College 9-0.

The Polar Bears (10-9) lost just two sets to the Camels and, with the win, advance to play rival Bates in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Torey Lee led the Bowdoin onslaught with a 3-0 win at number one while Rachel Barnes earned a 3-0 win at the second position. Alden Drake, Monica Wlodarczyk, Michaela Martin, Elizabeth Schetman, Bonnie Cao, Sara Wlodarczyk and Christina Whitcomb rounded out the Bowdoin points in the win.

Bowdoin will be looking to make its first appearance in the NESCAC semifinals since 2009.
