In January of 2007, Maren Rojas was named the head coach of the Bowdoin College women's soccer program. Rojas, who was most recently an assistant at the University of Virginia, is a 1994 graduate of William & Mary.

Coach Rojas enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign with the Polar Bears, posting a 12-5-1 record, the squad's first-ever NESCAC Championship game appearance and a bid to the NCAA Tournament. After four seasons at the helm, she has racked up 33 wins and a .570 winning percentage.

Rojas served as the an assistant coach for the University of Virginia for four seasons and brings 13 years of Division I coaching experience into her first head coaching position. She took the reins from legendary Bowdoin head coach John Cullen, who accumulated 237 victories over the past 22 seasons, including the last two as co-head coach with Katie Sheridan.

A native of northern Virginia, Rojas was a standout in goal at William & Mary from 1990 to 1994. During that time, Rojas was a three-time team MVP and two- time regional All-American while leading the Tribe to three NCAA Tournament appearances. She is still among the all-time leaders in most goalkeeping categories at William & Mary. Rojas graduated from W&M in 1994 with a degree in Art.

Rojas began her coaching career at James Madison, where she served as the goalkeeping coach for both the men's and women's programs from 1994-96. From there Rojas went to Syracuse University, where she helped start the women's soccer program in 1996. In seven years with the Orange, she helped the school appear in two NCAA Tournaments and three Big East tournaments.

Most recently, Rojas enjoyed an extremely successful stint at the University of Virginia, where the Cavaliers posted a 59-22-9 mark since her arrival in 2003. The squad won their first-ever ACC Championship over North Carolina in 2004, and reached the NCAA Tournament in each of her four seasons.

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Rojas has also served as a Region I staff goalkeeping coach since 1997 and a U.S. National staff goalkeeping coach from 2001 to 2003. Rojas also holds an "A" coaching license from the U.S. Soccer Federation and an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.
