Women's Soccer Trio Collect All-NESCAC Recognition

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Three Bowdoin College women's soccer players have been recognized in postseason honors announced by the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Thursday.

Senior co-captain Dana Riker (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and sophomore Ellery Gould (East Sandwich, Mass.) have been named first-team performers while junior Tiernan Cutler (Sacramento, Calif.) was tabbed as a second-team selection.

Gould earns a promotion from second-team to first after an outstanding sophomore campaign. She led the Polar Bears with 12 goals on the season, including a team-high three game-winners. She collected her first career hat trick in a win over Connecticut College on October 9 and notched both goals, including the overtime game-winner, in a 2-1 win over Wesleyan just days later. Her 12 goal output is tied for the fifth-most by a Bowdoin player in a single-season while her 20 career goals already stand 10th in school history.

Riker was outstanding in the midfield for Bowdoin this season, capturing her second-consecutive first-team choice. She was second, behind Gould, in scoring with four goals and three assists and closes out a fantastic career with 19 markers and 10 assists in 63 contests. Riker scored one of Bowdoin's most important goals of the season on October 30, notching the lone goal of the contest in a 1-0 win over Tufts in the season finale.

Cutler collects her second postseason award after netting a second-team All-NESCAC nod her rookie campaign. The junior defender paced a Bowdoin backline that permitted just 14 goals in 15 contests. Additionally, Cutler pitched in a pair of goals, including an overtime game-winner against Brandeis on October 22.

Bowdoin finished the season with an 8-7 overall record, falling 1-0 in overtime to Middlebury in the NESCAC quarterfinals.
