2016 Recap (7-3): The Polar Bears suffered just two losses last fall, to UNE and Norwich, and avenged one of them in a season-ending victory against the Nor'easters last November to close the fall campaign as the top Tier II team in the Northeast Intercollegiate Rugby Association. Bowdoin went 1-1 against top-level opponents URI and Dartmouth in the spring season.
2017 Preview: The Polar Bears return a boatload of veteran talent, including co-captains Schutzer and Gomezgil Yaspik, along with fellow senior Julliette Dankens. Other players to watch include Liz D'Angelo'19, Mackenzie Philbrick'20, Jackie Jaques'19 and Satya Kent'19. As always, the Polar Bears will look for depth from newcomers to become impact players over the course of the fall.
Bowdoin hosts four games this season, opening with Maine-Orono this Saturday, September 16 at Pickard Field. Other home matches include Colby (Oct. 14), Molloy (Oct. 28) and Long Island Univ. (Nov. 4). The four road matches will feature in-state foe UNE (Oct. 7), at Sacred Heart (Sep. 23) and a pair of trips to Vermont to face Castleton (Sep. 30) and St. Michael's (Oct. 21).
