WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bowdoin women's rugby team cruised to a 66-0 win at Williams Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 5-1 this season, as well as in NESCRC play, and will face their lone non-conference opponent of the year when they host Harvard at 1:00 p.m. next Saturday at Pickard Field.
Bowdoin's balanced attack, led by Kameryn Sanchez and Emily Athanas-Linden, combined with a smothering defensive effort, stifled all hopes of a Williams victory. Bowdoin opened strong when Addison Carvajal broke free just moments into the contest for a try, sparking a Bowdoin outburst that gave the visitors a 28-0 lead at the half.
Hayleigh Kein and Paige Pfannenstiel both collected hat tricks on the afternoon while Charlotte Kleiman had a pair of scores. Pamela Zabala, Maura Allen and Emily Stewart also scored a try apiece for Bowdoin.
The Polar Bear B-side was also triumphant against the Ephs, taking a 34-5 win.
