Trio of Polar Bears Recognized in All-NESCAC Women's Lacrosse Awards

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team placed three members on the All-New England Small College Athletic Conference team announced by the league on Thursday.

Junior Hannah Hirschfeld (Concord, N.H.) was joined by first-years Caroline Maxwell (Boxborough, Mass.) and Kara Finnerty (Hopkinton, Mass.) as Second Team selections.

Hirschfeld finished as Bowdoin's leading goal scorer this season, totaling 38 goals and nine assists to finish with a career-high 47 points. Finnerty burst onto the scene with 40 points in her rookie campaign - the most by a Polar Bear first-year since 1997 (Adrienne Gratry '00, 43 points), ending with 27 goals and 13 assists to go with a team-high 24 caused turnovers and 40 draw controls. Caroline Maxwell led the Polar Bear defensive corps, causing 13 turnovers and standing second on the team wiht 21 groundballs.

Bowdoin finished its season with a record of 10-6, reaching the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Tournament.
