Nicole Flores Named Assistant Coach For Women's Lacrosse

Nicole Flores joins Bowdoin after coaching stints at Union and Eastern Connecticut

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Nicole Flores has been named assistant coach for the Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team.

A 2009 graduate of Springfield College, Flores comes to Bowdoin from Union College, where she had been an assistant coach for women's lacrosse and field hockey since 2011. Flores replaces Ruth Ness, who accepted a head coaching position at the Coast Guard Academy this summer.

A native of Branford, Connecticut, Flores played four seasons for the Pride, where she was a first-team All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) defender as a senior captain. She earned her B.S. Degree in Physical Education and a minor in Health from Springfield in 2009.

After graduation, Flores served two seasons as an assistant coach at Eastern Connecticut State University where she helped lead the Warriors to back-to-back appearances in the Little East Championship game. After joining the Union staff in 2011, she helped develop the team into one of the most competitive in the Liberty League, assisting the team to the conference title match last spring.
