Betsy Sachs Named Second Team IWLCA All-American

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin senior Betsy Sachs (Glenside, Pa.) has been named Second Team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association.

Sachs, who earned First Team All-NESCAC and First Team All-Region earlier this spring, is named All-American for the second time in her career. She was named Third Team All-American following her junior campaign. It marks the fifth consecutive year that Bowdoin has had an IWLCA All-American recipient.

Sachs posted 40 goals for the Polar Bears this season, adding in five assists to finish with 45 points for the campaign. Earning a start in every game this season, the senior midfielder grabbed 19 ground balls and a team-leading 50 draw controls. Her 15 caused turnovers ranked second on the team, placing her among the team leaders in every statistical category. Sachs buried at least one goal in every game the Polar Bears played this season, stringing together consecutive five goal performances against Endicott and Hamilton.

For her career, Sachs saw action in 64 games as a Polar Bear, scoring 77 goals and 30 assists. In addition, her 65 caused turnovers are sixth all-time in school history.

Bowdoin finished the season with an 8-7 record, reaching the NESCAC Quarterfinals and a #16 ranking in the IWLCA's final regular season Division III poll.
