Polar Bear Women's Lacrosse Ranked Fourth in Division III Preseason Poll
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team is ranked fourth in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association Division III Preseason Poll released on Tuesday.
The Polar Bears finished their best-ever campaign in 2011 with a 18-4 mark and runner-up finish in the Division III NCAA Tournament.
Bowdoin graduated two seniors off of last year's team, co-captains Ingrid Oelschlager '11 and Katy Dissinger '11, but will return 10 of 12 starters including 15 of the team's top 16 scorers from a year ago.
The Polar Bears are one of eight NESCAC schools in the top 20 poll. Defending national champion Gettysburg stands first in the preseason rankings.
Practice begins for the Polar Bears on February 15. The squad will open its 2012 season at home against Connecticut College on March 10.
