Liz Grote Named IWLCA Pilgrim Region Coach of the Year
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin head women's lacrosse coach Liz Grote has been named the 2011 IWLCA Pilgrim Region Coach of the Year. Grote led the Polar Bears to a program record in wins and the team's first-ever appearance in the Division III "Final Four" this past spring. In the process, she became the most successful coach in school history with 104 victories.

Polar Bears Net IWLCA All-American, All-Region Honors
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Seven Bowdoin College women's lacrosse players have been honored in postseason awards handed out by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. Senior Ingrid Oelschlager (Roanoke, Va.) led the way for the Polar Bears, earning First Team All-American recognition, and was joined by juniors Liz Clegg (Hudson, Ohio) and Katie Stewart (Chevy Chase, Md.), who netted Third Team All-American.

Gettysburg Ends Bowdoin's Title Hopes in Championship Game
GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The Bowdoin College women’s lacrosse team’s thrilling run in the NCAA Tournament came to a disappointing end on Sunday in the Division III Championship game as the Polar Bears fell 16-5 to Gettysburg. The Polar Bears finish their best season in program history with a record of 18-4. The Bullets win their first NCAA title and finish the year with a record of 19-4.

Final Four Bound! Women's Lax Shocks Trinity in Regional Final
HARTFORD, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team has earned its first trip to the NCAA Division III "Final Four". The Polar Bears (17-3) dealt second-ranked Trinity (18-1) its first loss of the season in the regional finals of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, 9-6, giving 11th-ranked Bowdoin a trip to the national semifinals next Saturday at Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y.

Second Half Rally Pushes Bowdoin Past Stevens in NCAA's
HARTFORD, Conn. - Liz Clegg tied her season high with four goals to lead the Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team to a 13-10 win over Stevens in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament Saturday at Trinity College. The Polar Bears, who are ranked 12th nationally in the latest IWLCA poll, improve to 9-2 this spring. The Lyons drop their third straight game and fall to 5-9 overall on the year.
