About the Program
The women's swimming and diving program at Bowdoin has become one of the most competitive teams in New England. In the winter of 2005-06 the squad posted three dual-meet victories and is one of the school's most exciting up-and-coming squads.
The team swims an extremely competitive schedule that includes NESCAC rivals Bates, Tufts, Colby, Williams and Amherst, in addition to non-conference foes such as Babson and MIT. Bowdoin has had numerous All-Americans and has boasted one national champion. In 1980 and '82, Lissa McGrath '83 was the 400 individual medley national champion and in 1983, McGrath was the 200 individual medley champion. More recently, Maureen Singer '01 was a three-time All-American in diving.
