Caitlin Callahan Sets School Record, Earns All-NESCAC Recognition
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College junior Caitlin Callahan (Essex, Conn.) has received All-New England Small College Athletic Conference recognition based on her showing last weekend at the conference championship meet. Callahan placed second in the 50 yard breaststroke as the top three finishers in each event at the 2009 NESCAC Championship garnered All-Conference honors. Callahan set a new Bowdoin record in the event, breaking the mark set by Molly Fey in 1995.

Williams Wins 2009 NESCAC Women's Swim Title
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Williams College, the only program to have ever won a NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, claimed their ninth consecutive conference title on Sunday at Greason Pool. The Ephs posted a final team score of 1827.5, beating second-place Amherst (1429.5) and third-place Tufts (1145.5). Middlebury (1047) and Colby (886) rounded out the top five squads. The host Polar Bears finished in eighth place overall.

Williams Extends Lead at NESCAC Championship
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Williams College women's swimming and diving team extended their lead, winning six of eight events on Saturday at Day Two of the 2009 NESCAC Championship hosted by Bowdoin College. The Ephs boast a team total of 1313.5 to lead second-place Amherst (1047.5) by 266 points. Tufts University stands in third place overall with 819.5 points.

Williams Leads After Day One of NESCAC Championship
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Williams College women's swimming and diving team took a commanding 175-point lead after the first day of the NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship hosted by Bowdoin College. Behind five winning performances, the Ephs accumulated 685.5 points ahead of Amherst (510) and Tufts (425).

Bowdoin Men's Sink Colby, Women Fall to Mules
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men and Colby College women were victorious in a dual-match between the rival schools at Greason Pool on Saturday. The Polar Bear men defeated the Mules 178-106 while the Colby women defeated the Polar Bears by a score of 157-131.

Men's and Women's Swim Teams Split Home Meet
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College swimming and diving teams defeated Trinity and lost to Wesleyan in a home meet at Greason Pool on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bear men defeated the Bantams 165-132 but fell to the Cardinals 149-146. The women's team sank Trinity 208-72 and lost to Wesleyan 159-134.

Bowdoin Swims Teams Compete Well at Maine-Orono
ORONO, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's swimming and diving team competed at the University of Maine-Orono on Saturday in a non-scoring meet. The Polar Bears competed well against their Division I neighbors, winning several competitions on the day.

Polar Bears Sweep Bates in Return From Break
LEWISTON, Maine - The Bowdoin College swimming and diving teams swept Bates in a meet hosted by the Bobcats on Saturday. The Polar Bears edged the Bobcats 147-142 in the women's meet and took a 179-105 victory in the men's competition.

Swim Teams Compete Well at MIT Invitational
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's swimming and diving team placed fifth while the women's squad earned sixth at the MIT Invitational this weekend. Top finishes for the women's team included Allison Palmer, who earned second place in the 50 yard freestyle, fourth in the 100 yard free and was a member of two top relay showings. Bowdoin Women Sweep, Men Sink Babson in Opener
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bowdoin College women's swimming and diving team left a pair of teams in their wake while the men sank Babson in a season-opening meet at MIT on Saturday. The Polar Bear women (2-0) also defeated Babson while edging the host Engineers in a close finish.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin Swim Coach Brad Burnham loves to tell the story about the time Olympic gold-medal swimmer Ian Crocker visited Bowdoin. Midway through swimming a lightning lap at Greason Pool, the Olympian was passed by a member of the Bowdoin Women's Swim Team speeding one lane over.
