Second-Half Surge Pushes Women's Hoops Past Springfield
WILLIMANTIC, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team overwhelmed Springfield in the second half in an 88-60 season-opening win at the Eastern Connecticut Tip-Off Tournament on Friday. The seventh-ranked Polar Bears (1-0), who were led by 15 points from Caitlin Hynes, will play the host Warriors for the tourney crown Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

Women's Hoops Ranked Seventh in D3Hoops.com Preseason Poll
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The defending NESCAC Champion Bowdoin College women's basketball team is ranked seventh in the D3Hoops.com preseason poll released on Thursday. The Polar Bears claimed their eighth conference crown a year ago and made their ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

Basketball Teams Announce 2009-10 Schedules
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's basketball teams have released their 2009-10 regular season schedules. Both squads enjoyed stellar campaigns a year ago and will return strong senior classes and a bevy of talent to Morrell Gymnasium this winter. Practice begins November 1 for both teams with regular-season play opening the weekend of November 20-22.
