Women's Hockey Earns NCAA Quarterfinal Home Game Saturday Against Elmira

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's ice hockey team has earned an NCAA Quarterfinal home game in selections announced Monday morning. The Polar Bears will host Elmira College on Saturday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Sidney J. Watson Arena.

Tickets will go on sale beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, March 5, in the Athletic Department Office on the second floor of the Peter Buck Center. Tickets will be $5 for adults, $3 for students and children. Children under 2 and Bowdoin students with ID are free.

An automatic qualifier as champions of the New England Small College Athletic Conference, the Polar Bears (21-4-2) won their first conference championship since 2004 with a 2-1 win over Middlebury on Sunday.

Elmira earned an at-large bid to the tournament as the runners-up in the ECAC Tournament. The Soaring Eagles (21-5-1) fell to Plattsburgh 4-2 in the championship game on Sunday.

The winner of Saturday's quarterfinal game will advance to the national semifinals on March 15 against the winner of Wisconsin-River Falls and Gustavus Adolphus. The Division III semifinals and championship will be hosted by Wisconsin-Superior.
