BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin freshman Rachel Kennedy (Trumbull, Conn.) has been named as the New England Small College Athletic Conference's Women's Ice Hockey Co-Player of the Week.

Kennedy racked up five goals in a 2-1-0 week for first place Bowdoin. After scoring twice in a 4-1 win at Southern Maine on Tuesday, she found the back of the net for what proved to be the winner in a 3-0 triumph over Middlebury on Friday. The forward scored two more times in a 4-2 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.

The rookie currently leads the team, as well as all NESCAC first-years, with ten goals and nine assists this season.

Bowdoin, who rose to #6 in the latest Division III poll on Monday, boast a 13-2-1 record and lead the NESCAC conference standings. The Polar Bears are 7-1-0 in conference play.

The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team goes to Williams for a pair of games on January 25 and 26.
