Stephanie Ludy Earns NESCAC Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week

Stephanie Ludy scored twice to lead the Polar Bears to a weekend sweep of Hamilton

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin senior co-captain Stephanie Ludy (Shrewsbury, Mass.) has been named as the New England Small College Athletic Conference's Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week.

Ludy racked up five goals and an assist in a perfect 3-0 week for Bowdoin. After netting a power play goal in a 4-3 win over St. Anselm on Tuesday, she scored the eventual game winner and added an assist in a 4-1 triumph at Wesleyan on Friday. She then netted her first career hat trick in a 7-2 win over the Cardinals on Saturday. In the process, she helped the Polar Bears extend their unbeaten streak to 12. Ludy has scored five power play goals this season.

Over the course of the season, Ludy has netted eight goals, making her the team's second leading scorer. Bowdoin, who is ranked at #7 in last weeks Division III poll, are riding a 12 game unbeaten streak and sit atop the NESCAC scoreboard.

The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday night when they head to University of Southern Maine for a 7:00 PM game.
