Women's Golf Runs Away From Field at Season-Opening Bowdoin Blast

Ursula Munger shot an 84 on Sunday at the Mount Holyoke Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Led by medalist Ursula Munger, the Bowdoin College women's golf team won the season-opening Bowdoin Blast this weekend at Brunswick Golf Club.

Munger carded 86 on Saturday and 83 Sunday to post a two-day total of 169 and edge teammate Kendall Kyrtiz (88-85-172) by three strokes. Adding in fourth-place finisher Taylor Guiffre (94-93-187) and fifth-place Jacqui Maher (90-105-195), the Polar Bears took four of the top five finishers. Bates' Liz LaVerghetta was third overall with a two day total of 95-90-185.

In the head-to-head match between Bates and Bowdoin, the Polar Bears triumphed by a 723-893 score.
