Shannon Brady Named NESCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Brady leads Bowdoin in points, rebounding and blocks this season

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin sophomore Shannon Brady has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in a pair of Polar Bear victories last week.

Brady was dominant, averaging 20.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks as the Polar Bears downed Endicott and Bates. On Tuesday against the Gulls, Brady totaled a career-high 25 points to go with 13 rebounds in a 67-56 win. Against the Bobcats Saturday, Brady scored 16 points and grabbed six boards in just 18 minutes while picking up three assists and a block in a 76-40 win.

The reigning NESCAC Rookie of the Year has showed no signs of a sophomore slump, as she leads Bowdoin in points (15.8/game), rebounding (8.2/game) and blocks (2.0/game) through four contests.

The Polar Bears are at 4-0 for the first time since 2009 and will battle the University of New England in a challenging in-state duel Tuesday night at Morrell Gymnasium. Tip-off is at 6:00 p.m.
