BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin senior co-captain Kaitlin Donahoe (Amherst, N.Y.) has been named as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Donahue was named Most Valuable Player of the Bowdoin Holiday Invitational after leading the hosts to a pair of wins over the weekend. The guard averaged 15.5 points and 6.5 assists per game while pulling down nine rebounds. She was at her best on Saturday, when she collected 20 points, nine assists, four steals and four rebounds in a 66-35 triumph over Clarkson. The senior followed that up with 11 points, four assists and five boards, as the Polar Bears topped Clark 58-53 in the title game on Sunday.
Donahoe currently leads the team with a career-high 12.7 points per game this season and is also averaging 3.3 assists on the season. Through 94 career contests, she has 323 assists, ranking seventh all-time in school history.
After beginning the season 1-3, the Polar Bears have come on strong with wins in four of their last five outings. Bowdoin will look to continue its recent string of success on Friday when they host Hamilton College at 8:00 p.m.
