Women's Basketball Trio Play in NEWBA All-Star Game

HOLYOKE, Mass. - Bowdoin College senior women's basketball players Caitlin Hynes (Owl's Head, Maine), Leah Rubega (Norwich, Conn.) and Sabrina Cote (Dexter, Maine) closed out their collegiate careers at the New England Women's Basketball Association Senior Classic last weekend at Mount Holyoke.

In addition to being honored as a Senior All-Star with Cote and Rubega, Caitlin Hynes was recognized as a Second-Team All-NEWBA selection. Hynes enjoyed her most successful season as a Polar Bear in 2009-10, leading the team with 12.6 points per game and grabbing 5.2 rebounds per contest. Her 54 blocks are the fourth-most in a single season by a Bowdoin player.

The trio were one of the most successful classes in Division III basketball over the last four years, earning a pair of NESCAC titles, four NCAA Tournament appearances and 94 career wins.
