Bowdoin Announces End-of-Year Athletic Awards
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College Athletic Department announced their end-of-year honors at the annual All-Sports Banquet on Saturday evening, May 10. Top honors went to three-sport star Lindsay McNamara (Milton, Mass.), who garnered Outstanding Female Athlete, while track & field thrower Luke Fairbanks (Northbridge, Mass.) collected Outstanding Male Athlete recognition.

Kaubris, Noucas and Shibles Selected For NEWBA Senior Game
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Three members of the Bowdoin College women's basketball program will participate in the New England Women's Basketball Coaches Association Senior All-Star game on March 28 at Western New England College. Bowdoin senior captains Maria Noucas (Portsmouth, N.H.) and Alexa Kaubris (Rumford, Maine) were selected to play in the contest and will be on the same team led by Polar Bear head coach Adrienne Shibles.

Shibles Named WBCA New England Coach of the Year
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College women's basketball coach Adrienne Shibles has been named the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's Region I (New England) Coach of the Year. Shibles, in her first season at the helm of the Polar Bears, led Bowdoin to their eighth NESCAC Championship and ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

Muhlenberg Bounces Bowdoin From NCAA Tournament
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Muhlenberg College women's basketball team held off a furious last-minute rally by Bowdoin to take a 58-57 win in an NCAA Division III Tournament Second Round game on Saturday evening at Morrell Gymnasium. The loss is the first ever in NCAA or NESCAC Tournament play at home for Bowdoin, who finishes their season with a record of 24-5.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior tri-captain Maria Noucas was named First-Team All-NESCAC while teammate Jill Henrikson was tabbed as the league's Rookie of the Year in postseason honors announced by the conference today. In addition, first-year head coach Adrienne Shibles was recognized by her peers as the NESCAC Coach of the Year following an inaugural 23-4 campaign and the program's eighth NESCAC Championship.

Rubega Named NESCAC and New England Player of the Week
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College junior forward Leah Rubega (Norwich, Conn.) was named the Player of the Week of both the New England Small College Athletic Conference and the New England Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Monday. Rubega averaged 13.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game as the Polar Bears claimed their eighth NESCAC Championship last weekend. BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team reclaimed the NESCAC Championship after a one-year respite, defeating Amherst 49-46, for their eighth conference championship on Sunday afternoon. NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team secured the top seed for the NESCAC Women's Basketball Championship with a 76-59 victory over Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears (20-4, 8-1) will host eighth-seeded Williams in a quarterfinal contest next Saturday, February 21. MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team moved itself one step closer to claiming the top seed in the NESCAC Tournament with a 63-52 win over Wesleyan University on Friday evening. Now 7-1 in NESCAC play (19-4 overall) and owning the tie-breaker over Amherst with a head-to-head win, Bowdoin can secure the top seed and home-court advantage by defeating Conn. College (0-8 in NESCAC play) in the final game of the regular season Saturday. Wesleyan is now 11-10 (3-5 NESCAC). First-year Jill Henrikson scored 19 points to lead the Polar Bears.

Bergeron Leads Bowdoin to Senior Day Rout of Williams
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin's Katie Bergeron tied the school record with six three-pointers, sparking the Polar Bear women's basketball team to a 91-58 Senior Day rout of Williams. The Polar Bears (18-4, 6-1 NESCAC) win their 13th consecutive meeting with the Ephs dating back to 2001. The 33-point margin of victory was also the largest ever for Bowdoin against Williams (8-14, 3-4 NESCAC). Bergeron finished with 22 points in the win for the Polar Bears.

BOSTON, Mass. – The Bowdoin College women’s basketball team upended the Saints of Emmanuel College, 75-50, in a non-conference game played at the Jean Yawkey Center Saturday. Sophomore guard Katie Bergeron led three Bowdoin players scoring in double figures with 17 points in the win. Construction Relocates Entrance To Morrell Gymnasium
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Due to construction on the New Campus Fitness Center, the entrance to Morrell Gymnasium has been relocated for use during the 2008-09 basketball season. The new entrance will be adjacent to the Smith Union loading dock at the southwest corner of the Morrell Gymnasium parking lot. A black awning will direct traffic into the facility.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team has garnered a number-15 ranking in the D3Hoops.com preseason poll released on Thursday.
