National Fastpitch Coaches Recognize Bowdoin Softball For Academics
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College softball team has been awarded All-Academic honors by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for its work in the classroom last year.
In fact, across all of Division III softball last year, Bowdoin ranked 16th with a cumulative team GPA of 3.482. As a result, the Polar Bears achieved All-Academic Team status from the organization.
Additionally, eight players were recognized as NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes for surpassing a 3.5 GPA for the 2012-13 academic year. The following players achieved recognition for the feat: Cielle Collins, Toni Dacampo, Melissa Dellatore, Julia Geaumont, Siena Mitman, Tracy Shirey, Dimitria Spathakis and Tricia Thibodeau.
Bowdoin finished the 2013 season with a 30-14 record, earning a runner-up finish at the NESCAC Championship.
