Softball Edges Washington & Jefferson in High-Scoring Affair

CLERMONT, Fla. - The Bowdoin College softball team outscored Washington & Jefferson on Sunday, 10-7, to improve to 7-2 overall this spring. The Polar Bears second scheduled game of the day, against the University of Chicago was suspended due to rain. The teams hope to complete the contest on Monday.

Against the Presidents, Bowdoin rapped out 12 hits, led by a 3-4 day for Caroline Dewar, who collected an RBI. Molly Nestor, Kara Nilan and Annie Mitchell all had two hits in the game as well for the Polar Bears. Kaity Sansone started in the circle for Bowdoin and allowed five tough-luck runs on just three hits. Tricia Thibodeau earned the win in relief after permitting just two runs over the remainder.
