BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College sailing team has released its 2013 fall regatta schedule, which includes a pair of home events slated for Bethel Point.
The Polar Bears plan on competing in 34 regattas this autumn as part of the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association schedule. Opening weekend is September 14-15, which includes four competitions, including the Schuman Trophy (MIT), the Harry Anderson Trophy (Yale), the Penobscot Bay Open (Maine Maritime) and the FJ Invite (Harvard).
Bowdoin will host a pair of regattas this fall, beginning with the Women's Invitational at Bethel Point Sailing Center on October 5. One week later, the Polar Bears will play host to the Nicholas Barnett Trophy on October 12.
Other highlighted competitions will include the Hewitt Trophy at Dartmouth on October 5, where the Polar Bears will be looking to defend their title from a year ago, as well as the Wellehan Trophy at Southern Maine on October 27, which the Polar Bears claimed in 2011.
Frank Pizzo's squad will be captained this year by Peter Edmunds, Ayaka Okawa and Tom Peabody.
