Sailing Teams Host Barnett Trophy As Part of Busy Weekend of Action

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College sailing team hosted the Nick Barnett Trophy this past weekend as part of a busy slate of events.

Bowdoin made a late run at the Barnett Trophy event at Bethel Point as the team of Pete Edmunds, Mae Speight, Jeff Goodrich, and Clare Henry mounted a strong comeback Sunday afternoon but fell just shy of the Dartmouth. The Polar Bears finished in second place overall by one point out of 15 teams.

The nationally-ranked women's team traveled to the Naval Academy to compete in the Navy Women's Fall Regatta and finished 11th overall, earning a strong result at a competitive regatta.  Sailing for the Polar Bears were Katie Doble, Kim Dempsey, Emily McNeil, Lizzy Hamilton, Isabel Low, and Kaylee Schwitzer.

The Polar Bears also competed at the Storm Trysail Collegiate Regatta in J-105s at Larchmont YC where the team finished fifth of 15 teams.
