RUMFORD, Maine – The Bowdoin nordic team competed at the Bates Carnival which doubled as the EISA Regional Championship at Black Mountain on Friday and Saturday.

Carnival Highlights

  • Warm weather dictated the weekend, causing sticky and difficult racing conditions. Hannah Miller finished 5th in both the 5K classic and 15K skate, earning First Team All-State. Miller clinched a spot at NCAAs with the weekend's performance.
  • Sean Cork and Lily Johnston each earned Second Team All-State honors after finishing the classic at 37th and 39th respectively.
  • The men's team improved on Saturday, working as a group, ending with Jacob Adicoff posting a personal best at 23rd. Christian Gostout ended the day in 27th after rebounding from a crash in the early stages of the race.
  • Johnston and Katja Grumman both skied well paced races and moved up several places in the final lap to score at 43rd and 54th.
