LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - The Bowdoin College nordic ski team took a ninth-place showing of 13 teams at the season-opening Saint Lawrence Carnival hosted at Mt. Von Hovenburg this weekend.

Weekend Highlights

  • Bowdoin was powered by a fifth-place team showing in Friday's men's classic sprint. Malcolm Groves took tenth individually in 3:05.1. Sean Cork was 21st in 3:09.4 while Russell O'Brien recorded a 25th-place showing in 3:10.5.
  • The Bowdoin women were led by Lily Johnston in Friday's classic sprint, who took 22nd in 3:46.7 followed by Ellie Hands in 53rd (4:00.1).
  • In Saturday's freestyle races, the Bowdoin women took 11th while the men earned ninth as a team.
  • Johnston led the Bowdoin women again with a 21st-place finish in 16:44 over a 5K course.
  • Jake Adicoff was 34th for the Bowdoin men, finishing the 10K course in 31:00.3
