Nordic Skiing Extends Streak to Top-Ten Finishes at Middlebury Carnival

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Bowdoin College nordic ski team earned a ninth-place finish at the Middlebury Carnival this weekend in Vermont.

Competing at the Rikert Touring Center, the Polar Bears racked up 186 points to extend their string of top-ten Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association finishes to four consecutive carnivals.

Kaitlynn Miller again led the way for Bowdoin with a ninth-place individual finish in the women's 5K classic on Friday (16:24.7). She followed it up with a 13th-place in Saturday's 15K mass start freestyle (42:21.3). Hannah Wright had a strong 18th-place showing in the 5K classic (17:07.7) and then carded a 30th-place finish in the freestyle event (44:19.3).

Kevin Hoose took the top individual finish for the men in weekend action, earning a 30th-place showing in Saturday's 20K mass start (42:21.3). He also earned a 41st place showing in Friday's 10K classic (42:21.3). James Crimp was Bowdoin's top finisher in the classic race, taking 33rd overall (28:30.4).

Bowdoin will wrap up its EISA season next weekend with the EISA Championship/Bates Carnival at Black Mountain in Rumford.
